Meet the team

Kate Monaghan
Named as one of Broadcast’s Hot Shots for 2010 and a Fast Track graduate, Kate Monaghan is our Development Director and our in-house ideas factory. Starting her TV life on children’s favourite Blue Peter, she then went behind the scenes at the beeb working on Doctor Who Confidential, before moving into the TV development world at a number of indies. She was then headhunted to direct a half-hour documentary for Channel 4 at the ripe old age of 22 as part of the New Shoots series for directors with a disability. Kate’s disability keeps things interesting as we never know if she’ll be walking around or wheeling in her purple chair. Whichever it is, it’s always done at high speed.

Paul Carter
An NCTJ-trained journalist, Paul is a co-director of markthree media and is an accomplished producer, director and occasional presenter. He has written for such luminary publications as The Telegraph, The Times and The Mirror, and has presented live radio programmes for the BBC. His journalistic career got off to the dream start, bagging a staff writer position on lad’s mag Zoo, before moving into more serious territory as a reporter for Disability Now. He’s something of an expert on Paralympic sport, and has spoken about it on the airwaves across the world. Like Kate, Paul is an alumni of the Edinburgh Television Festival Fast Track scheme for new industry talent.

Oli Lewington

Oli is our Production Assistant and responsible for everything from organisation of the office and our shoots to tea-making and filing. Luckily, we don’t have a lot of paper.  Starting out in theatre as an Education and Production Assistant at Milton Keynes Theatre and the Royal Theatre, Northampton respectively, he progressed into freelance filmmaking following a double-lung transplant in 2007. He has shot and edited a series of school arts documentaries for the now-defunct Creative Partnerships and The Mighty Creatives, as well as being a regular blogger and social media tart.
